On the bible
I have read more than my fair share of the word of God. I have become like the psalmist, and need weening.
But in memory of the good book, as I try to work my way toward prayers and petitions for souls, mine and others, I want to remember this time, which was so enlightening.
I learned a lot in recent times, over the past few years. I had set out to learn and I did. If I continue to learn, it will be by compulsion. Otherwise, I enjoy the Bible as an intimate way to experience God.
I was looking at the fire place and saw this:
And I ought to be glad I am not Isaiah. What an awesome task he was tasked with. But that was always my favorite verse. Send me.
So God never showed himself me a prophet.
Now, did you know Isaiah is in 2 Kings?
Did you know about the Servant Songs?
Did you know the son of Noah, Shem? The son of Shem, Assur, is an Assyrian God? His brother was the direct ancestor of Abraham!
Did you know Joseph's sons were given Rueben's place, that Joseph and Rueban were not of the 12 tribes of Isreal. And Jacob crossed his hands blessing the boys. So says YouTube. Then they said God likes to use younger brothers. Apparently, he picks the right person.
Well, learning and prophecy are not the same. Knowing in part may make a fine tale... but seeing the whole is wiser 😌
