Read it and weep!

Ms. Marginalien is one of the people I regularly report, and I am excited about this one. 

Once, oh ... 5 or so years ago, I was forcing myself to read  "The History of Philosophy" by Hegel so as so see if it was, at least in the piece I found in an anthology, pertaining to a place "having a spirit". I believed that at one time. Atlanta, Memphis and Los Angeles all had feelings, or I had the feels. 

One or the other, this bit of metaphysical geo-figuring has me ready to, as I did with Hegel, read and simultaneously weep out of despair, for no one can stomach the difficulties of Hegel, and this one is sure to be a doozy:
