I want to come up with several words that will illustrate the ability to comprehend an experience without having to use the word itself. i.e. (off the top of my head) prisoner. The point being, and "prisoner" is a bad example but, the word defines an actual concrete thing. A "prisoner" is a certain reality, but knowing the word does not necessarily explain the experience and it does not give first hand knowledge of being a prisoner.

In the same way, knowing much math or having a stockpile of words and information does not necessarily equip a person with the ability to fully realize what that information defines. Many words do not write themselves. The writer must use them with skill. Those skills are learned but time and again cannot be feigned. You either got it or you don't, as they say.

Again, let us gather together the visions of the ancients and say "ahhh, inspiration"! What is this breath? This life!? Because without that kind of thinking, you are devoid of what you attampt to master.

Also, we the laypeople of the world may not have the ability to define what an adagio is, or be able to tell how many parts are in a certain kind of symphony, but the individual's aptitude for music and ability to keep up with the parts has nothing to do with a person's musical knowledge. A person can recogize in music the tones, emotion, tempo, remember and recognize the sounds and the skill of skilled performers, with no musical education whatsoever.

A person with talent can draw, dance, sing, etc.

To cook well, what does one need?

Some can and some cannot.
